About Big Bub's Bees
Big Bub's Bees is a business dedicated to providing high-quality bee colonies for beekeepers in Northern IL. Our focus is on overwintered nucleus bee colonies that are acclimated to the cold and harsh winters of the region. With our queen bees possessing VSH genetics, we aim to increase your chances of winter survival and help you become a successful beekeeper.
OUR LOCATION
High Point Conservation Area
Perched in the center of a three-mile radius, High Point Conservation Area boasts the highest glaciated point in Illinois at 1,189’ above sea level. This 253 acre oak and hickory savanna and ephemeral wetland complex mix, creates attractive habitat for many savanna and declining grassland bird species, such as the bobolink and meadowlark. Fifty-two species of birds, hawks and waterfowl have been spied within its boundaries, including Sandhill Cranes, snipes, wood ducks, killdeer, American woodcock, Baltimore Orioles and barred owls.
If I were a bee, I'd want to live here! Hell, forget being a bee, I want to live here!
